| About IELTS The test is a fair and comprehensive test of your English at a given point in time and reports on your overall English ability from grades 1-9 through testing your listening, reading, writing and speaking skills. Take IELTS to study or work abroad in New Zealand, Australia, Canada, and the UK. IELTS is recommended as the truly international option over TOEFL because it is now accepted by American universities - I believe it also offers a fairer test as it is testing your ability to survive in an English-speaking environment, and not your knowledge of American history or geography. Before you take a course, you should have some idea of what level you need to be at - do you need a 6 or a 7? Is that 'overall' or do you need a 6 in each part of the exam? I will advise you as to whether your aim is realistic or not. I don't want you to be aiming to high (or low)! Preparation Courses It is strongly recommended that you invest in a preparation course before taking the exam. People with perfect English will not necessarily score a 9 without becoming familiar with the test format. EnglishTeacher.lt offer courses to help you get the grade you deserve. I have a lot of experience in teaching IELTS - my first IELTS student was in 2001, so for over 9 years. I have a reputation for cracking the whip near exam time but maintaining a friendly face! I really want you to get the best grade you are capable of and find it rewarding to hear back from students who are fulfilling their dreams in Australia, or getting a decent degree from a top UK university. Maximum guaranteed group size is 8, although 4-6 is common. I find teaching IELTS particularly rewarding - if students listen and take my advice, they can hopefully fulfil their dreams!
