I sometimes feel some kind of sadness that so many young peoplewith sharp minds are taking IELTS to study abroad. I can understand they want to take advantage of opportunities that were not available to their parents. However, sometimes I think it is easier for an outsider to see the GOOD things here in LITHUANIA. I am sure some of my friends thing I am mad for choosing to live in Lithuania (and yes, I am mad in many ways!) but here is some positive news about Lithuania! 1.We breathe the cleanest air of any major European city - isn't that something to be proud of?!
According to Siemens AG and the Economist Intelligence Unit, we also rank 13th in overall green-ness. That means we're the greenest capital among 'new' EU memebers. See the whole report here. 2.We have really fast and widespread internet connections - 1st in the world for upload speed. FIRST IN THE WORLD!!!6th for download speed. 3. According to the Quality of Life Index 2009 overall score, Lithuania comes in at 1 point above the UK! However, the cost of living in the UK is 29, whereas it is 70 in Lithuania...Hmmm.
